What makes an IFA Aromatherapist stand out?

The IFA stands for expertise, experience and excellence within the Aromatherapy Profession. Established in 1985, the IFA is the world's first international aromatherapy organisation committed to:

  • Offering the highest level of professional training

  • Ensuring that codes of conduct and ethics are maintained by IFA Practitioners and training providers

  • Increasing public awareness of the benefits of aromatherapy

  • Representing aromatherapy in medical, government and complementary health organisations.

Your IFA Practitioner is properly trained and qualified:

  • All our full practitioners have successfully passed the IFA professional examinations in Aromatherapy, Massage, Anatomy & Physiology, Client Care and all aspects of Professional Practice. They carry the prestigious MIFA Reg qualification.

  • All IFA practitioner members have to undertake at least 12 hours of continual professional development training each year.

  • All IFA practitioner members must carry full professional indemnity insurance and hold a current certificate in First Aid.

What's even better?

  • GPs refer patients to practitioners on accredited registers like the IFA which is approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care, a UK body accountable to Parliament. So being an IFA registered practitioner is demonstrating as a professional practice as a healthcare provider.

  • IFA registration is recognised for reimbursement with Health Shield, UK Healthcare and Westfield Health private healthcare cash plans, which allows clients who hold the relevant plans to reclaim the cost of their treatment with an IFA registered aromatherapist.
